Accounting is the systematic recording, categorising, analysing, reporting and preparation of financial statements by following a set of rules and regulations that governs financial reporting. Accountants play a key role in auditing, budgeting, tax planning, investing, financing, and raising of capital.
This programme aims to produce competent, dedicated and industry-relevant accountants, auditor of financial specialist who are motivated to achieve excellence in their discipline.
UTAR Bachelor of Accounting has been set at the highest level and is continuously updated in line with requirements of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and has been designed in accordance with the requirements by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) under the blueprint titled Halatuju 2. (The Government's Blueprint for Professional Accounting)
The degree programme has been officially approved and gazetted by the Ministry of Finance as a recognised qualification under Part I of the First Schedule of the Accountants Act, 1967. With the immediate effect, graduates of this programme may apply for MIA membership as a Chartered Accountant (C.A.) upon obtaining 3 years relevant experience.
Graduates will be granted exemptions from well-known professional accountancy bodies such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, MICPA, CPA Australia as well as CTIM.
