How to Become a Certified Actuary?

The completion of an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science does not imply that you are a qualified actuary. To become a certified actuary, you must further your studies by taking professional exams with professional bodies such as the Society of Actuaries (SOA), Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) or other professional bodies. Most people will work in the actuarial field while studying for their professional papers, which could take 3-7 years part-time.

The UTAR Bachelor of Science (Honours) Actuarial Science programme includes relevant courses that have been approved for Validation by Education Experience (VEE) credit by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) in the United States and exempted from the Core Principles subjects by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) in United Kingdom.
