Entrepreneurship is at the heart of all enterprises, regardless of size. An entrepreneur is someone who conceptualises, plans, budgets, organises, manages, communicates, and works tirelessly to assure the success of a new start-up firm, product, or service.
The entrepreneurship curriculum at UTAR is aimed to systematically train students to build their entrepreneurial spirit and confidence. In addition to general business knowledge and skills, they will learn the entrepreneurial process and skills, such as business plan preparation and negotiation techniques, as well as public policies associated with the development of new business ventures.
UTAR has established the UTAR Young Entrepreneurship Start-up Scheme (UTARYES), a seed fund to help aspiring students with product development and market research. Furthermore, through UTAR's Unovate Centre, students can participate in numerous entrepreneurial programmes, such as the structured entrepreneur cultivation programme, which all give students with experiential learning opportunities.
