Financial Technology is a rapidly growing field that uses technology and innovation to innovate and provide alternatives to traditional financial methods. As the Industrial Revolution 4.0 requires a more innovative and skill-driven workforce, it is more important than ever to equip finance graduates with the skills to solve problems, strategise businesses, assess risks, and forecast trends through utilising financial technology effectively.
The financial technology degree programme at UTAR combines the essence of traditional finance as well as financial technology. Students in this programme will be exposed to the use of business analytics, statistical tools, and databases in scientific business research, as well as technological advancements such as IoT, AI, blockchain, and cloud computing, which will serve as the main drivers. Skilled finance and financial technology graduates should now be highly sought after in Malaysia's finance industry as employers expand their businesses and add more value for organisations and their clients. More finance specialists are needed for Malaysia to achieve a developed country vision and be known as a high-income nation.
