Industrial engineering is a field that optimises systems and processes to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability. Industrial engineers use their technical and business skills to improve systems in various industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, and transportation, which leads to time saving, waste reduction and profitability improvement. Industrial engineers play a significant role in addressing global issues, such as socio-economic inequality, environmental sustainability, and climate change, by designing sustainable manufacturing processes, reducing supply chain waste as well as optimising transportation networks.
Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Industrial Engineering aims to equip
students with a wide range of skills, including problem-solving, critical
thinking, data analysis, and project management, which enable them to
create solutions to complex problems in engineering field and make a
difference in the world. They can also gain an understanding of the
importance of collaboration and communication in business and
engineering contexts.
