Industrial engineering focuses on improving systems, processes, and operations to enhance productivity, quality, efficiency, and sustainability across industries such as manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and transportation. Industrial engineers apply engineering knowledge, data analysis, and management techniques to solve complex industrial problems, reduce waste, optimise resources, and improve organisational performance.
The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Industrial Engineering programme equips students with technical and practical skills in manufacturing systems, quality engineering, operations management, supply chain management, simulation, and continuous improvement methodologies. The revised curriculum also incorporates Lean Six Sigma and AI-related applications to align with current industry needs and Industry 4.0 developments.
Students will develop strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and project management skills to address real-world engineering challenges. Upon successful completion of the programme, students will also be awarded a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certificate, which is highly valuable in the manufacturing and industrial sectors.
