Ambitious students can participate in the UTAR Undergraduate Research Scheme (URS) which allows them to be trained to conducted scientific research and work with our researchers on a real-life research project.  Participation in extracurricular activities organised by clubs and societies, and the unique UTAR Soft Skills Development Certificate (USSDC) programme will enhance students' management, leadership, entrepreneurial and social skills.

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) has cultivated a strong culture for research among faculty members and students. UTAR has established the required infrastructure and system essential to achieving research excellence at UTAR. Undergraduate students are explored to research projects through UTAR Undergraduate Research Scheme (URS). There are 34 research centres where students can seek research training and attachment.

Student Support

Being home to various nationalities, UTAR makes an effort to consistently come up with initiatives to enhance the international student experience. From enrolment to graduation, UTAR assists international students at every stage of their time in the University. A few of the services that UTAR provides include a 'meet and greet' session at the airport for incoming first-year students and helping students settle in with accommodation. The University organises orientation programmes, with events and activities aimed to develop networking among new students. 

UTAR ensures the safety and security of its students within campus and take care of students through several awareness campaigns on emergencies, stress management, first aid and more. Students can also reach out to the University's confidential counselling services for emotional or personal help from licensed counsellors.
