The Building and Property Management deals with the management of third-party properties for a fee or commission. It focuses on managing, investing, buying, selling, renting, servicing, using and valuing properties in order to maximise returns for investors.
The building and property management degree at UTAR is the foundation for a successful career in the profession of professional property services. It trained students to perform real estate valuation, transaction, management, and investment by providing a set of comprehensive knowledge and skills that are highly relevant and employable.
Graduates of this programme can register with Board of Valuers, Assessors, Estate Agents and Property Managers (BOVAEP) to be a Probational Valuer (PV) or Probational Estate Agent (PEA) upon graduation. This programme is also recognised by the Royal Institute of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) in which upon fulfilling the membership requirement, the prefix ‘Sr’ (which is an abbreviation for Surveyor) can be used in the applicant’s name. Additionally, graduates of this programme can register as “Graduate Members” with Building Management Association of Malaysia (BMAM).
