Recognition by Professional Bodies

UTAR has sought recognition and accreditation from relevant professional bodies on an ongoing basis, in order for its graduates to be recognised and to be exempt from taking professional examinations after they have graduated. Such professional accreditation and recognition will allow its graduates to advance their careers quickly while also being associated with the elite group in their respective professions. 

Accountancy

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA)

ACCA is the global professional accounting body offering the Chartered Certified Accountant qualification (ACCA) with HQ in UK. 
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) 

ICAEW is a professional membership organisation that promotes, develops and supports chartered accountants and students across the world. 
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) 

CIMA in UK is the world's largest professional body of management accountants. We offer the most relevant finance qualification for business.
Finance Leadership Programme (FLP) by Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) 

FLP, CIMA University partners will be provided with world class learning system that will enable students to access the CIMA Professional Qualification. 
CPA Australia 

CPA Australia ("Certified Practising Accountant") is one of the world's largest professional accounting bodies. It provides members with internationally recognised qualification as well as specialist training ad continuing professional development (CPD). 
The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) 

The MICPA is Malaysia's only professional accounting body, and its professional examinations have been used to train professional accountants in the country. A collaborative effort between the MICPA and the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA) was launched in 2009 to provide candidates with mutual advanced entry into the professional examinations of both accounting bodies. Candidate who pass the exam will be eligible for two professional memberships.

Actuarial Science

Society of Actuaries (SOA)

The Society of Actuaries (SOA) is a global professional organisation for actuaries that was founded in 1949 in the United States. The SOA advances actuaries as leaders in measuring and managing risk to improve financial outcomes for individuals, organisations, and the public through education and research. The SOA offers professional exams and continuing education to students and practising actuaries, upholds high professional standards for actuaries, and conducts research on actuarial trends and public policy issues.
Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFOA)

The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) is the UK's only chartered professional body dedicated to educating, developing and regulating actuaries based both in the UK and internationally. The IFoA regulates and represents over 30,000 members worldwide, overseeing their actuarial education at all stages of qualification and development throughout their careers. They set examinations, continuing professional development, professional codes and disciplinary standards for their members.

Board of Architects Malaysia

The Board of Architects Malaysia or Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM) is a statutory authority established under the Architect Act 1967 regulating the practice of architecture and the registration of architects in Malaysia.

The Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB)

The AICB is Malaysia's only professional body for the banking industry. The Institute's mission is to raise professional and ethical standards in banking by cultivating a workforce that advocates for the highest levels of professional conduct, knowledge, and competence. AICB is also the only Institute in Southeast Asia that has been approved by the Chartered Banker Institute, UK, to confer the Chartered Banker status on qualified members.

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC)

The RSC's mission is to advance excellence in the chemical sciences – to improve the lives of people around the world now and in the future. The RSC is the professional body for chemists in the UK, and an internationally renowned publisher of high quality chemical science knowledge. It supports and represents a global community of over 50,000 members.

Company Secretary

Malaysian Association of Company Secretaries (MACS)

MACS is an independent, self-regulating local professional body established and registered under the Societies Act 1966 on the 30th November 1989 and has been a Approved Body under Fourth Schedule of the Companies Act, 2016. Fellows and full Members grade members of the Association are qualified to practise as Certified Company Secretaries.

Construction Management

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)

The CIOB in UK is the world's largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership. It has a Royal Charter to support construction and building and offering those services to society since 1834. CIOB members work throughout the development, conservation, and improvement of the built environment, representing the lifecycle of all built assets.

Engineering

The Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)

The BEM is a statutory body constituted under the Registration of Engineers Act 1967 with perpetual succession and a common seal, which may sue and be sued. BEM primary role is to facilitate the registration of Engineers, Engineering Technologists, Inspectors of Works, Sole Proprietorships, Partnerships and Bodies Corporate providing professional engineering services and; to regulate the professional conduct and practice of registered persons in order to safeguard the safety and interest of the public.

Financial Planning

Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM)

FPAM advocates that practicing financial professionals across all disciplines must always strive to maintain their technical competence and fulfil the profession’s ethical obligations. FPAM offers continuing education courses to its Associate and Certified Members. The organisation also strives to provide financial industry professionals with knowledge and understanding of Financial Planning and its related activities.
Malaysian Financial Planning Council  (MFPC)

MFPC is an independent body set up with the noble objective of promoting nationwide development and enhancement of the financial planning profession. MFPC provides an evolving set of Best Practice Standards and Code of Ethics that must be adhered to by Registered Financial Planner (RFP) and Shariah RFP designees. This requirement is aimed at ensuring that the public will be served with the highest quality of financial planning services.

The Society of Logisticians, Malaysia

The Society of Logisticians, Malaysia, also known as “LogM”, was founded in 2010 is the professional body that confers the title of “Logistician”, or “Log.”, to recognize qualified logisticians in Malaysia, which may include academic and practicing logisticians in the fields of logistics, transport and supply chain.
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT)

CILT International is the global parent organisation for CILT,  the leading international membership organisation for everyone within logistics and transport. The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Malaysia, as the second largest international chapter outside of the United Kingdom, has members with thousands of years of professional experience in the industry.

Medicine

Malaysian Medical Council (MMC)

The MMC, or Majlis Perubatan Malaysia, is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament approved on September 27, 1971, and gazetted on September 30, 1971 in the course of providing safe and competent health care services for the country.

Nursing

Nursing Board Malaysia 

The Nursing Board Malaysia or Lembaga Jurawat Malaysia was established align with The Nurses Act and Nurses Registration Ordinance were enacted to control the practice of nursing. Malaysian Nursing Board conducts examinations to recognise future nurses who have completed their studies. The Malaysian Nursing Board's implementation of the exam contributes to high-quality registered nurses who meet the level and criteria established in nursing courses.

Physiotherapy

Malaysian Allied Health Profession Council

The Allied Health Profession Act (Act 774) was gazetted on 18 February 2016 and come into force in 2020.  Act 774 was created to regulate the services of the associated health profession. All physiotherapists will be regulated under Act 774.

Quantity Surveying

The Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia 

The BQSM is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament, namely the Registration of Quantity Surveyors Act 1967, that is responsible for the registration of Quantity Surveyors and firms and bodies corporate practising as consulting Quantity Surveyors, as well as the regulations of the Quantity Surveying profession in Malaysia.

The RICS in UK is the world's leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property, infrastructure and construction. RICS membership is the hallmark of trusted quality in the surveying profession and opens up a world of career and business opportunities.

Taxation

Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM)

CTIM was established in 1991 under the auspices of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). The Institute currently has around 3500 members, who include accountants, licensed tax agents, lawyers, business and industry people, and other tax practitioners. Since its inception, CTIM has been actively involved in raising awareness of and promoting the tax profession in order to meet the country's demand for qualified and trained tax practitioners.

Technology

The Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT)

The MBOT was established as a professional body through a Technologists & Technicians Act 2015 (Act 768), to register and recognize Professional Technologist as well as Certified Technician as professionals. It was instigated by the recommendation of the Tenth Malaysia Plan which has identified the needs for setting up a professional body to register and recognizing graduates of skills and technology.

Valuation, Estate or Property Management

The Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents Malaysia (BOVAEP)

The BOVAEP was set up in 1981 under the purview of the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia. The setup and operation of this Board is governed by the provision of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers Act 1981. Its primary function is to regulate the Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers practising in Malaysia.
